Winter in it's full glory!

It's been snowing here, far to early for my liking, but that's the British weather for you - unpredictable. Much to the boys delight it means a few days off school though Samuel did miss the snowball fights that had ensued in the playground where he took great delight in picking off the year 11 boys (bearing in mind he is only year 7) and then running like the wind to escape the consequences! Fortunately he's a fast runner, which can't be said for his friend Jimmy who was his co-conspirator.

Reuben only had one day off school and was very grumpy when told he had to go in on the Friday while Samuel's school was still shut. However, later that day he thanked me for making him go in ... only because they'd done absolutely no work and had had a massive snowball fight with the teachers, needless to say, the kids won!
The highlight of this snow fall has been the trips to Hilly Fields in Colchester where the boys

have met up with David for some sledging. Despite the cold, they've been reluctant to come home, sledging into the dark and getting the slopes completely to themselves as other families have sensibly headed home for warmth and dinner!
